On entry pricing: we ran the math last season. Going $5 over the regional median dropped entries 3%, but day-of revenue was up 11% after we cut two underfilled divisions.
If you're losing trainers to a competing weekend, look at your facility layout before you blame the prize list. We rebooked 14 groups by reducing travel times between rings and stall.
On the staffing question: I pay grooms a flat day-rate plus a finishing bonus tied to braid count. Happy to share the spreadsheet in DMs.
